The months of  June to October  are the absolute peak period for spotting humpback whales along the coast. Specifically looking for the gigantic, impressive whale sharks? Depending on water conditions, these mighty animals are present here almost all year round, with a clear peak during the warmer months of  November to March .

Besides the spectacular ocean safaris to spot manta rays and whale sharks, for example through the professional dive school  Peri Peri Divers,  we highly recommend a trip to the mangroves just outside the village. Here, you get into a canoe and paddle slowly across the mirror-calm water. Especially around sunset, when the sun hangs low over the landscape, you experience a magical, completely different world in the silence of the mangroves.
