Question 1

Is a scenic flight over the Okavango Delta worth it?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. In fact, if we had to choose one activity that gives you a completely different perspective on Botswana, it would be a flight over the Okavango Delta . It is only from the air that you can truly appreciate how vast the area really is. Winding waterways, thousands of small islands, herds of elephants and hippos that are barely visible from the ground make this one of the most impressive flights you can take in Africa.

Question 2

When are the Victoria Falls at their most beautiful?

Accepted Answer

That depends on what you want to see. Shortly after the rainy season , usually between April and June , the Victoria Falls carry the most water. The waterfalls are at their most spectacular then, and the enormous clouds of spray make a great impression. Later in the dry season, the view of the rock walls becomes clearer, allowing you to appreciate the structure of the waterfalls more fully. Both periods therefore have their own charm.

Question 3

How does the crossing into Botswana via Pandamatenga work?

Accepted Answer

The border at Pandamatenga is one of the quietest and most efficient crossings between Zimbabwe and Botswana. From Robins Camp, it takes less than an hour to reach it. Bear in mind that you may not take any animal products across the border due to foot-and-mouth disease. If you leave Hwange before 9 am, you do not have to pay the park fee again that day. Just across the border in Botswana, you are immediately in a strategic area: from the nearby Wilderness Eco-Lodge you can take day trips to the famous, elephant-rich Chobe Riverfront and the remote, bird-rich Kazuma Pan.
